OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Sept. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- YRC Freight, a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: YRCW), announced today that Maynard Skarka will assume the newly created position of Chief Operations Officer of the company, effective September 10, 2012. In this position, Skarka will be responsible for strategic planning and lead the day-to-day operations of the network team.  He will report directly to YRC Freight president, Jeff Rogers.

Skarka was most recently president of Dynamex, a transportation logistics company, headquartered in Dallas, TX. Previously, he served as president of Yellow Transportation and before that served as division vice president during the 26 years he was with the company.
