Reddaway Fleet Honored for Safety Performance

Apr 23, 2012 at 10:44 AM EDT

CLACKAMAS, Ore., April 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- (NASDAQ: YRCW) -- Reddaway has been honored by two trucking organizations -- the California Trucking Association and the Colorado Motor Carriers Association -- for outstanding safety performance in 2011.

The California Trucking Association (CTA) presented a Fleet Safety Award to Reddaway for placing second in the over-seven-million-miles linehaul/less-than-truckload (LTL) category in its annual Safety Awards Program. The CTA also honored Reddaway with the Charlie Giles Award for Most Improved Fleet Safety.

This is the second year in a row for Reddaway to receive safety honors from the CTA. Last year, Reddaway placed third in the over-four-million-miles LTL/general commodities local/short haul category.

The CTA evaluated over 55 companies on a number of objective safety-performance criteria. Categories included but were not limited to documented policies and procedures, accident ratios, recruiting systems, training programs, and participation in CTA safety activities.

"Our Reddaway professionals work tirelessly to uphold the highest levels of workplace and highway safety," said Dave Yonemoto, director of safety at Reddaway. "We are proud to receive such recognition for their effort. We aim to make this achievement just one of many landmarks on our continued pursuit of safety excellence."

In addition, the Colorado Motor Carriers Association announced that Reddaway placed third in its 2011 annual Fleet Safety Contest in the less-than-truckload, less than three-million-miles category.

"At Reddaway, safety is paramount," said Reddaway President TJ O'Connor. "With that commitment comes the assurance that our employees are safe, our customers are satisfied, and the roadway is a better place for everyone. We are honored to receive these awards, and we seek to continue our efforts to keep this region's highways as safe as they can be."
