Proactive Alerts Enhance Holland Freeze Protection Service
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Oct. 29, 2010 - Holland, a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq: YRCWD), recently announced a new enhancement to its Freeze Protection Service. Now, e-mail weather alerts are available to customers who sign up for the communications.
E-mail alerts enable shippers to better plan their transportation and inventory strategies to ensure their supply chains remain efficient during the winter. This is particularly important for companies handling products that are susceptible to freezing.
The Holland Freeze Protection Service builds on the transit speed of the largest network of next-day delivery points in the region and the operational efficiencies which ensure shipments move quickly to their destinations. Less time in transit means less time for freezing to occur.
In addition, Holland service centers are equipped with technically-engineered and environmentally safe CargoQuilt® covers. The quilts provide an extra blanket of protection to drums, pallets and totes. Shipments maintain temperatures above 32-degrees Fahrenheit from pickup to delivery. "Warm rooms" also are available for use over weekends as necessary to protect freezable shipments.
