YRC Reimer Sends Outstanding Drivers to Canada's 2010 National Professional Truck Driving Championships

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Sept. 14, 2010 - YRC Reimer, a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq: YRCW), announced today that three of its professional drivers will compete at the 2010 Canadian National Professional Truck Driving Championships. Hosted this year by the Manitoba Trucking Association, the events will be pheld Sept. 16-19 at the Canad Inns Polo Park and Stadium in Winnipeg.

Representing their provinces and YRC Reimer in the 2010 national championships are:

  • Harvey Gording - City driver from Regina, Saskatchewan, competing in the Single/Tandem class

  • Larry Radons - City driver from Regina, Saskatchewan, competing in the Straight Truck class
  • Rob Trager - City driver from Winnipeg, Manitoba, competing in the Single/Tandem class

Gording and Radons are both two-time past Canadian National Grand Champions.

To qualify for the national championships, drivers placed first in their respective classes at provincial competitions. Drivers will compete for national titles in seven different classes of vehicles and for the overall title of National Grand Champion.

Both the provincial and national competitions include challenging driving skills and maneuvering tests, a pre-trip inspection and a written examination covering vehicle operation and safety regulations. To participate in the competitions, drivers must be accident-free for one year.
