26 Outstanding Yellow Transportation Drivers Qualify to Compete in the National Truck Driving Championships
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Yellow Transportation, a subsidiary of Yellow Roadway Corporation (Nasdaq: YELL) today announced that a record-breaking 26 of its professional drivers qualified to compete at the National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC) to be held August 16-20th in Tampa, Florida in the Tampa Convention Center.The first-place winners of the state truck driving championships qualify for the American Trucking Association's national championships. To participate in state competitions, drivers must be accident-free for one year before their state contest.
The Yellow Transportation reigning ATA National Truck Driver of the Year, Charles C. "Charlie" Brown, will also be competing this year.

The Yellow Transportation drivers will compete against 363 others for national titles in eight different classes of vehicles and for the National Grand Champion title. The drivers accumulate points by demonstrating their driving skills and knowledge of the industry through a written exam, personal interview and a pre-trip inspection.
