USF Companies and New Penn Motor Express Receive Quest for Quality Honors

AKRON, Ohio, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- YRC Regional Transportation, a division of Yellow Roadway Corporation (Nasdaq: YELL), announced today that all of its companies have been recognized for outstanding service quality in the annual Quest for Quality award program conducted by Logistics Management magazine and Reed Research Group. Over the past 20 years, the Quest for Quality survey has become the largest customer satisfaction survey in the transportation and logistics industry and can be an important resource for shippers trying to differentiate among service providers.

The following summarizes the awards:

  • Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region: New Penn Motor Express was recognized with its 22nd consecutive Quest for Quality award for outstanding service and received the highest overall weighted score within its regional category. New Penn provides regional transportation to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic areas.
  • Midwest/North Central Region: USF Holland was recognized with its 20th consecutive Quest for Quality award for outstanding service. USF Holland provides regional transportation to the Midwest, Southeast and portions of the Northeast.
  • Western Region: USF Reddaway was recognized with its 15th consecutive Quest for Quality award for outstanding service and received the highest overall weighted score within its regional category. USF Reddaway provides regional transportation to the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain areas. USF Bestway was also recognized in the Western Region with its 4th Quest for Quality award for outstanding service. USF Bestway provides services to the Pacific Southwest and Texas 5-State areas.
  • Truckload/Expedited: The USF companies, including truckload provider USF Glen Moore, were recognized with their 2nd consecutive Quest for Quality award for outstanding truckload and expedited services.

More than 2,000 readers participated in the Logistics Management survey this year. Results of the survey appear in the August 2005 issue. Participants rated their providers in the following five performance areas: on-time performance, value, information technology, customer service, and equipment and operations.
