Yellow Roadway Corporation Ranks Number One in Its Industry for the Second Consecutive Year in Fortune Magazine 'America's Most Admired Companies'
Yellow Roadway joins other most admired corporate leaders in this year's annual survey, including Wal-Mart Stores, Southwest Airlines, Procter & Gamble and Starbucks - each with top rankings in their respective industries.
"We are extremely honored by this prestigious recognition," said Bill Zollars, Chairman, President and CEO Yellow Roadway Corporation. "This validation of Yellow Roadway as a leader in its ongoing commitment to its customers is much appreciated."
Fortune Magazine's annual list of America's Most Admired Companies, appearing in the March 8 issue of the magazine, is the definitive report card on corporate reputations. Fortune worked with the Hay Group to establish rankings by taking the ten largest companies by revenues in 64 industries, including foreign firms with large U.S. operations, and surveying 10,000 executives, directors, and securities analysts to rate the companies in their own industries using eight major criteria.
