U.S. Senator Brownback Honored By National Association of Manufacturers For His Exemplary Voting Record on Key Manufacturing Issues

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Yellow Corporation (Nasdaq: YELL) announced today that Senator Sam Brownback has been awarded the National Association of Manufacturers Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence in recognition of his consistent support of American manufacturers and their employees. NAM Board Member Bill Zollars, Chairman, President and CEO of Yellow Corporation, presented the award today in Overland Park.

The award is given by the NAM -- one of the nation's largest and most influential business groups -- to senators and representatives based on their voting records on key legislation affecting the manufacturing community. Its recipients have shown support for a pro-growth, pro-manufacturing, pro-worker agenda. Members of Congress are notified throughout the congressional session of votes that will be considered as "Key Votes" used to determine eligibility for the award. This marks the second time that the NAM has given the award.

"Senator Brownback's voting record shows a true understanding of manufacturing's key role in the strength of our economy and a willingness to cast the critical votes that will boost competitiveness, job creation and prosperity for working Americans," said Zollars, noting that Brownback voted in support of manufacturers on 93% of the NAM-determined key votes.

"On behalf of Yellow Corporation and our 32,000 employees, I thank Senator Sam Brownback for championing the causes that will allow U.S. manufacturers and their employees to continue to drive our economy to new heights," Zollars added. "He is a true friend to the people who make things in America."
