Yellow Corporation Companies Moving At Full SpeedOVERLAND PARK, Kan., Sep 18, 2001 /PRNewswire/ -- Yellow Corporation (Nasdaq: YELL) announced today that transportation networks at all of its operating companies are moving at full speed in the wake of the September 11 tragic events in New York and Washington DC.
At Yellow Freight System, all shipments are moving through the company's continental U.S. network with no delays, except for 10 zip codes in the lower Manhattan area of New York where deliveries cannot be made. Inbound shipments from Canada and Mexico are experiencing delays of 10 hours or more in clearing customs at the borders. Outbound shipments to those countries are crossing the borders in four to six hours.
Atlanta-based Saia has experienced no delays or disruptions during the crisis anywhere in its 21-state delivery network.
Delanco, New Jersey-based Jevic Transportation is running full schedules throughout the lower 48 states, except for those areas of Manhattan still undergoing massive cleanup operations.
