YRC Worldwide Announces the Winners of its 2015 Destination Green Environmental Excellence Award

April 24, 2015 -- YRC Worldwide is pleased to announce the winners of its 2015 Destination Green Environmental Excellence Award. This is the fourth year for the award that recognizes employees of YRC Worldwide companies whose work demonstrates a commitment to improving environmental performance. As part of YRC Worldwide's dedication to reduce its carbon footprint, all operating companies are members of the award-winning EPA SmartWay voluntary emissions program. Participation dates back to the beginning of the program, making YRC Worldwide a Charter Partner.

This year's Destination Green award winners include representatives from YRC Freight and Reddaway. The winners are:

Chris Johnson, YRC Freight - led a comprehensive waste reduction program at a YRC Freight facility that resulted in significant reduction of the facility's carbon footprint.

Bill Pratt, YRC Freight - nominated for his work to bring on 600 new power units with advanced anti-emissions devices. Pratt and his team also developed plans to bring into the fleet 1,000 trailers with advanced aerodynamic devices.

Denise Richards, Reddaway - spearheaded a project to install environmentally efficient LED lighting at three Reddaway facilities, resulting in a 20% reduction in energy usage.

Jeannie Richardson, YRC Freight - recognized for her work with customers to educate them on YRC Freight's environmental initiatives.

Darrell Wilson, YRC Freight - responsible for strategy and execution of a lighting upgrade at a YRC Freight facility which resulted in the company being selected to participate in the Tennessee Valley Authority EnergyRight Solutions for Business program.
