Yellow Names President of Regional Carrier Group; Names New Corporate CFOOVERLAND PARK, Kan., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Yellow Corporation (Nasdaq: YELL) today announced that corporate Chief Financial Officer H.A. "Bert" Trucksess has been named President of the company's regional carrier group. The group includes: Saia Motor Freight Line, Jevic Transportation, WestEx and Action Express and had 1999 annualized revenue of approximately $735 million.

Hiram A. Cox, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Yellow Freight System, will succeed Trucksess as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Yellow Corporation. Both appointments are effective February 1, 2000.

Trucksess has served since 1994 as Senior Vice President - Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Yellow Corporation. He served as Senior Vice President - Finance & Administration for Preston Trucking Company and its parent, Preston Corporation from 1992 until the company's 1993 acquisition by Yellow Corporation. Prior to his association with Preston, Trucksess had served since 1984 as Chief Financial Officer of trucking affiliates of Sun Carriers, Inc. From 1971 to 1984, he held several financial management positions with the Sun Company, a diversified energy company. Trucksess is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Lehigh University with a degree in business and economics.

Cox joined Yellow Freight in July 1998. Prior to that, he was Corporate Controller for Delta Airlines in Atlanta, where he oversaw the operations of eight major departments. He began his career with Delta in 1981 and had served as Managing Director for Delta Shuttle, Director of Financial Planning and Control, and Director of Strategic Planning. A native of Georgia, Cox has an MBA from Georgia State University and a BBA in Finance from the University of Georgia.

Saia Motor Freight Line is a regional transportation services provider serving approximately 95,000 customers in the 12 Southeastern states and employs 4,700 people. Jevic Transportation is a multi-regional less-than-truckload and truckload services provider, serving more than 50,000 customers throughout the Northeast, Atlantic Seaboard, Southeast, and Upper Midwest and employs 2,300. WestEx is a regional carrier serving 7,200 customers in California and the Southwest and employs 1,100. Action Express is a regional carrier serving 4,000 customers in the Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest and employs 400.
