Reddaway Proudly Transports Air Force Academy Graduates' Goods with Military Precision

Jun 14, 2012 at 12:00 PM EDT

CLACKAMAS, Ore., June 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- (NASDAQ: YRCW) -- For the second straight year, Reddaway has been honored to transport the personal belongings of Air Force Academy graduates to their new military assignments.

About a week before the graduation ceremony on May 23, cadets brought everything from flat screen TVs to clothing to one of two sites at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.

A moving and packaging company prepared their belongings for shipping. As the cadets filed through, they completed their shipping paperwork with the help of Jeff Robinson and Jim Whitbread of Reddaway. "We were their last point of contact and the last time he or she saw their belongings," said Jeff, an account manager at the Reddaway terminal in Denver and a Navy veteran who served in Desert Storm. Jim, who is also a Navy veteran, is manager of Reddaway's Denver terminal.

After graduation, Reddaway held trailers for two weeks in case an officer's orders changed and a shipment had to be rerouted.

Reddaway moved shipments to military bases in the western U.S. Shipments to military bases in the eastern U.S. were handled by YRC Freight. Both companies are subsidiaries of YRC Worldwide Inc.

Moving the belongings of officers is an honor in a community that is home to three military bases and the North American Aerospace Defense Command.

"As Air Force cadets counted down the days to graduation, the United States Air Force counted on Reddaway to move the personal belongings of its newest officers with military precision. We are extremely proud to help the Academy's 54th graduating class begin their service as officers of the most powerful Air Force in the world. We congratulate them on their achievements and thank them for their commitment to ensuring the security of our nation," said Reddaway President TJ O'Connor.
